VESTITO Project

VESTITO

New solutions for sustainability and circularity in the textile-fashion sector.

The VESTITO project is part of the broader framework of ecological transition applied to one of the industrial sectors with the highest environmental impact: the textile and fashion industry.

The primary objective is the development and validation of innovative chemical and engineering solutions that promote material sustainability and full product circularity at the end of life.

The research aims to provide concrete technological options to reduce dependence on fossil-based raw materials, optimize the life cycle of textiles, and facilitate their recycling.

Consortium and Operational Units

The project leverages the advanced expertise of the University of Salerno (UNISA) in the field of macromolecular chemistry.

University of Salerno (Department of Chemistry and Biology "A. Zambelli"): The research activities of this unit are coordinated by Prof. Claudio Pellecchia (Project Coordinator for the University). The team is responsible for translating innovations in polymer synthesis into direct industrial applications in the textile sector, ensuring a solid scientific foundation for the newly developed materials.
